New Armed Attack on Sweet Shop in Adana: Extortion Claims and Terrifying Threats Revealed

In the Seyhan district of Adana, a sweet shop that had been targeted multiple times before was subjected to another armed attack late at night. Gunshots were fired by a suspect whose identity has not yet been determined at the workplace on Tellidere Street. While no one was injured by luck in the attack, material damage occurred to the shop's windows and entrance door. Upon the notice of nearby residents who heard the gunshots, police and health teams were dispatched to the scene. Following the examinations at the scene, a large-scale operation was launched to track the perpetrator and collect evidence.

The footage clearly shows the suspect coming to the front of the shop, firing in a regulated manner, and then quickly leaving the scene. With this last attack, the shop owner Serdar Kılınç has faced a similar incident of violence for the third time in the past year. Similar armed attacks were carried out against the workplace in July and October of last year, but no physical injuries occurred during those periods either. It is claimed that the main reason behind the attacks is the business owner's refusal of illegal extortion demands. According to police sources, Kılınç received death threats from foreign numbers due to his refusal of these demands, and messages were sent stating that the workplace would be hit with a hand grenade. Even in the face of these threats, Kılınç's refusal to change his stance may have caused the attacks to be repeated.

As a result of the investigations launched following similar incidents last year, some suspects were detained, and a process took place in which some were arrested. However, the continuation of the attacks despite the arrests indicates that the organization or criminal gang behind the incident is still active. The Adana Police Department is examining in detail whether there is a connection between the previous investigations and the suspects. To deepen the investigation, it is being researched whether there is any contact between the detained defendants and the new attacker. The police have intensified intelligence work to identify other hitmen who were released or continued to threaten the plaintiff.

While crime scene investigation teams collected the spent cartridges and fragments in their work on Tellidere Street, they also took biological and physical evidence into examination. Through a frame-by-frame analysis of the security camera records, efforts are being made to determine the clothing, physical structure, and escape vehicle used by the attacker. Security units have merged the files to clarify whether this new attack is directly linked to previous extortion and threat incidents. The main goal is assessed to be putting Serdar Kılınç under economic and psychological pressure and forcing him to accept the extortion. While patrols in the area are increased for the safety and peace of the citizens, it was stated that the efforts to catch the attacker will continue with determination.
