No Passage for Bootleg Alcohol in Antalya: 208 Liters Seized in Alanya and Manavgat

Teams from the Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command conducted a significant operation as part of the determined struggle to prevent illegal alcohol and counterfeit product trade across the city. The process regarding the operation targeting addresses in Alanya and Manavgat districts was carried out under the directives of the Alanya and Manavgat Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and within the framework of meticulous planning. This operation, conducted in compliance with the legal framework, stood out as a reflection of the zero-tolerance principle against criminal activities that provide unjust gains and threaten public health in the regions.

As a result of the work carried out by the security forces, detailed searches were conducted on the warehouses belonging to 2 different businesses under suspicion. During these searches, a total of 208 liters of illegal alcohol substances, which were assessed as being unlicensed and prepared to be released to the market by evading inspection, were seized. The fact that the seized amount was this high in a single instance shows that the operation reached its target and a significant blow was dealt to the smuggling network in the region. It was stated that the operation was a successful result of intelligence efforts and the target was hit precisely.

During the raids, the alcohol found in the warehouses, which posed a danger in terms of health, was seized to prevent its trade and was taken under protection. Following the examinations, a process was initiated regarding whether these products would be destroyed or what would happen after necessary judicial procedures. It is a known fact that the production and trade of illegal alcohol not only cause material loss but also contain serious health risks, so this aspect of the operation is of great importance.

As the investigation into the matter is being deepened, documents and ledgers found in the businesses of the detained suspects were also seized one by one for examination. Preparations for reports to be submitted to judicial authorities have begun to illuminate the event in all its dimensions within the legal framework, and the collection of necessary evidence continues. Whether the smuggling activity was conducted in an organized manner and the sources of support provided to these businesses are among the focal points of the investigation.

On the other hand, it was stated that the controls of the gendarmerie teams against similar crimes in the province would continue uninterruptedly and warnings regarding public awareness would persist. It was announced to the public that such operations would continue at periodic intervals in order to prevent unfair competition and protect the health of citizens. Citizens were asked to be cautious against food and beverage products they purchase, especially at well below market prices or from suspicious sources, and they were advised to call the 112 Emergency Call Center for any suspicions.
