Crescent Star Headquarters: Giant Military Command Center Three Times the Size of the Pentagon

Within the scope of the massive project carried out by the Ministry of National Defense, the details of the Crescent Star Joint Headquarters are beginning to become clear. Designed taking inspiration from the Turkish flag, this massive structure will be one of the world's largest military headquarters when completed. The facility, built on a total area of 12 million square meters, has the capacity to bring together approximately 1680 football fields with this size. This massive scale reveals that the project is a unique architectural and military enterprise not only nationally but also globally. The investment and effort in question aim to carry Turkey's defense infrastructure into the next century.

The perimeter wall defining the physical boundaries of the headquarters will be exactly 6.5 kilometers long, and this wall will have the characteristic of protecting the massive size of the area. The 5 separate conference halls inside are being built with the equipment to host large-scale meetings and strategic planning sessions, each with a capacity of 3 thousand 200 people. In addition, the Yıldız building, the construction of which was completed in a short time like one year and covers an area of 10 thousand square meters, stands out as one of the critically important structures of the headquarters. While 6 indoor parking lots are being built for visitors and personnel, these parking lots will serve with a total capacity of 6 thousand 400 vehicles. Thus, any logistical problems will be prevented for the vehicles of a large number of personnel and official visitors.

One of the most striking details related to the project will be the place of its dimensions in international comparisons after completion. When completed, the size of the headquarters will be exactly three times that of the Pentagon, the world's most well-known military center. At the same time, it will go down in history as one of the largest projects in the history of military facilities, covering an area four times larger than NATO's main headquarters. Within the scope of the ongoing intensive construction works, 1 million square meters of the 2 million square meters construction area have already been completed. This progress rate makes it possible for the project to remain loyal to the determined schedule and to become fully operational in the planned period.

The amount of materials used in the construction process also reveals the massive scale of the project. A massive excavation volume of 19 million cubic meters has been carried out in the area, exhibiting tremendous engineering features. 2 million cubic meters of concrete, equivalent to approximately the volume of the Great Pyramid of Giza, is being used to guarantee the strength and durability of the structure. In addition to this, 125 thousand tons of steel, equivalent to exactly 22 times the amount of steel in the Eiffel Tower, forms the steel skeleton of the headquarters. A 25-kilometer-long intra-barracks road will be built within the facility, and these roads will help ensure uninterrupted transportation within the massive size of the area.

The military facility in question aims to draw attention not only with its massive structures and piles of concrete and steel, but also with its eco-friendly approach. In the project, it is planned to green an area 1.5 times the size of the famous Hyde Park in London. In this context, it is envisaged that exactly 1 million plants and trees will be planted in the campus and a massive green area of 2 million square meters will be created. Its technological infrastructure will also be well beyond world standards; because 44 thousand 800 kilometers of cable and 168 thousand lighting fixtures will be located within the area. This mega project, which will be equipped with 25 thousand fiber optic cable capacity, is designed as one of the most comprehensive defense centers of the modern world, where military communication and data transfer are supported with the most advanced technology.
