70-Year-Old Musa Tan, Severely Wounded in Armed Attack in Batman, Loses His Life

In a tragic incident that occurred in the Hilal Mahallesi in the center of Batman, 70-year-old Musa Tan, who was shot at while walking on the street, lost his life. Tan, who was severely wounded by bullets hitting various parts of his body as a result of gunfire opened by an as-yet-unidentified person or persons, was taken to the hospital after initial intervention at the scene. Upon the surrounding citizens hearing the incident and immediately reporting the situation to health and police teams, a large number of teams were dispatched to the area. While security forces launched a comprehensive investigation at the scene, health teams rapidly transferred the wounded to the nearest health facility. Following the completion of forensic examinations and autopsy procedures at the hospital morgue, the body of Musa Tan, who lost his life, was handed over to his relatives. Received by his family and loved ones with great sorrow and tears, the funeral was sent on its final journey to be buried at İkiztepe Mezarlığı on 6 Temmuz 2026. Those who attended the funeral ceremony paid their respects to the memory of the elderly man and felt deep sorrow that such a tragic event had occurred. The crowd attending the funeral wished for peace for Tan, who lost his life prematurely. This painful farewell once again revealed how deep the wound created by the incident is on the local people.

Following the incident, Batman İl Emniyet Müdürlüğü teams launched a comprehensive investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects who carried out the attack. While it was stated that the investigation continues in a multifaceted and large-scale manner, it was learned that, alongside security cameras, testimonies from witnesses in the area were also referenced. Authorities stated that no stone is being left unturned to catch the perpetrators and that operations will be deepened in light of new evidence.
