Brussels' Mont des Arts Area Adds Color to Summer Nights with Arts at Night Event

The Mont des Arts region, the beating heart of Brussels' culture and art, hosts a mesmerizing night experience as part of the 'Arts at Night' event organized to start the summer season. Prepared under the curation of ELS, this new edition brings together the city's three most important cultural venues with a single ticket, offering participants a unique route. The event's main concept, 'Shifting Gazes', gives visitors the opportunity to question their ways of looking at the world based on gender, identity, and desire. In a social context where reference points are constantly debated, the exhibitions and shows focusing on this theme create a deep intellectual ground. One of the indispensable stops of the night program, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts, reinterprets its collection with a new perspective through the 'Art x Gender' presentation. The exhibition here examines how the concepts of representation and identity in the field of art have evolved and been questioned over centuries, offering a historical context. The nearby Bozar (Palais des Beaux-Arts), on the other hand, scrutinizes today's beauty criteria with its exhibition titled 'Picture Perfect. Beauty through a Contemporary Lens', while Delcy Morelos's immersive installation promises an experiential journey in the Horta Hall. The KBR museum (Royal Library) also presents a program blending medieval heritage with contemporary visions. In particular, traces of Bart Van Loo's 'Téméraires' work create rich content where the past and future dialogue in this space.

In addition to art and exhibition experiences, Arts at Night goes beyond museum walls to offer an energetic atmosphere unique to the summer months. The Albert restaurant, located on the fifth floor of the KBR museum, is launching a special opening by switching to 'nocturne' mode for the summer season. For this special night, a pre-opening series called 'Albert Frequencies' is organized, while collective DJs from Brussels, Paris, and Amsterdam enliven the festivities with electronic and warm sets accompanying the sunset. The musical atmosphere starts at 18:30 in the KBR garden with a live performance by Aisha Orazbayeva and continues with Tony Njoku taking the stage. These live musical performances allow art lovers to experience an auditory feast between visual visits.

Gastronomy also attracts attention as an integral part of the event with the 'Albert Latitudes' concept. Recommended by the owners, this concept offers a sophisticated interpretation of street flavors. The menu includes Athens-style pita, vegetarian bánh mì, taco, and even 'poulet moambe' specific to the Congo, creating cultural diversity. These food presentations allow participants to experience different tastes while enjoying the night full of art and music.
