Solidarity vigil in front of the municipality following the detention of Çankaya Mayor Hüseyin Can Güner

Following the detention of Çankaya Mayor Hüseyin Can Güner and some municipal personnel, a solidarity vigil was initiated in front of the Çankaya Municipality building. The democracy and justice vigil held in the solidarity tent, set up with the participation of hundreds of citizens, has exceeded 24 hours.

Citizens are giving messages of support to the municipal workers and Güner, making calls for justice, law, and democracy. Members of Parliament, political party representatives, unions, and non-governmental organizations are also visiting the vigil, which saw intense participation throughout the day.

In the statements made during the vigil, it is emphasized that universal principles of law must be observed during the detention process. The aforementioned statements of support continue with the action maintained in the tent in front of the municipality building.
