State Launches Tender for Two New Locations to Operate a Quarry

In the current economic agenda, an important step was taken regarding the mining sector, and the state authority initiated new tender processes for the operation of natural stone resources. Official announcements regarding the issue focus on the privatization of quarry areas or the transfer of usage rights in order to provide access to raw materials, which is one of the basic inputs of the construction industry. While this process is followed with great interest by local administrations and mining companies, it offers potential opportunities that will pave the way for investments in the sector.

The first site evaluated within the scope of the tender and focused on was known as Možura-Orlovo, which holds strategic importance due to the geological structure of the region. The potential of this location has been determined as a result of physical research, and engineering studies show that the field has an economically sustainable production capacity. The richness and quality of the mine site have been viewed positively by experts in terms of contributing to the regional economy with future excavation works.

The status of Gradina, determined as the second target, has been subject to a different timeline than the first location. This distinction may stem from the two sites undergoing different administrative and environmental procedures. According to the forecast calendar in official documents, the tender process and bid collection phase for this operation area have been spread over a longer period than the first site.

According to the determined calendar regarding the process, the final application date for submitting bids for the Možura-Orlovo site has been set as 16 Temmuz. Companies and potential investors are obliged to submit their technical and financial documents prepared by this date to the competent authorities. It has been warned that if applications are made after this date, the files will not be taken into evaluation and will be returned due to administrative rules.

On the other hand, the management of the process for the Gradina site has been planned in a more flexible time frame, and bid collection procedures will continue until the date 3 Ağustos. These two different dates cover a sufficient period for companies to complete their preparations, and the tender commission will meticulously examine the applications of the candidates. As a result of the evaluation, it is aimed to transfer usage rights to the companies offering the most suitable bid and to initiate mining activities within the legal framework.
