Haluk Levent's Police Statement: 'There Is Irregularity But No Corruption'

The details of the statement given by Haluk Levent, who was detained as part of the investigation launched by the İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the AHBAP Association, have emerged. While 23 of the 24 suspects whose procedures at the Financial Crimes Department were completed were referred to the courthouse, Levent made striking statements regarding the financial operation of the association.

In his statement, Levent admitted to making administrative mistakes and confessed that he used AHBAP's checks and promissory notes as collateral in some places. Stating that he was in a large amount of debt, Levent used the expressions, "You can call this irregularity, but you cannot call it corruption," and claimed that he planned to correct the irregularities at the end of the year but was not given the opportunity.

While Levent argued that he did not have any assets or bank accounts registered in his name, it was revealed that he managed his concert revenues through Yeliz Kaya's account and that Zafer Yay had an account at stock exchange brokerage firms. Levent also claimed that the operation was deliberately and intentionally moved forward, stating that he attempted to transfer real estate valued at 150 million lira to the association for 80 million lira.
