The Three Kazıms of Hendek: The Biographies of Kazım Tor and Kazım Konuk Are Told

Researcher-writer Danyal Hergünsel talked about the prominent figures of the Hendek district, known as the "Three Kazıms". The first of these, Kazım Tor, stands out as an innovative figure who found the first wooden shoe nail in Turkey, stopping imports in this field.

According to Hergünsel's account, Kazım Tor is a versatile person who made the first torture device for furniture makers and produced musical instruments in his 60s. He also founded a brand called "Hoparlör Ses" and created products that attracted attention during his time. In a conversation with Tor's son, who is one of the best in Turkey in the field of the oud instrument, it was stated that none of the works he produced have survived to the present day.

The second of the Three Kazıms is Kazım Konuk, described as a gentleman whose elegant attire and fedora hat rivaled the Paris Champs-Élysées. Konuk also went down in history as the first person from Hendek to work professionally on radio and television. Hergünsel remembered Kazım Konuk and his son Zafer Konuk with love and respect.
