Power outage warning for high-consuming institutions in Iran due to extreme heat

Mustafa Reçbi Meşhedi, Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy at the Iran Ministry of Energy, announced that the extreme temperatures expected on Tuesday and Wednesday this week will significantly increase electricity demand. The increased use of cooling devices due to rising temperatures will create a heavy burden on the national electricity grid.

It was reported that a decisive struggle will be waged against institutions that do not comply with consumption rules and consume excessive electricity. The official emphatically stressed that if unusual consumption continues, high-consuming institutions will face power outages.

It is noted that every one-degree increase in temperature puts an additional load of approximately 2 thousand megawatts on the grid across the country. This situation creates a very heavy burden on the national electricity grid and production units.
