Participation and Revenue Doubled for the Democratic Party's Modena Festival in İtalya

The Modena branch management of the İtalya Demokratik Partisi (PD) announced that this year's traditional 'Festa dell'Unità' event was highly successful and that the vast majority of expected targets were exceeded. In a joint statement by City Secretary Diego Lenzini and Stefano Manicardi, in charge of party events, it was emphasized that moving the event to a new venue was a major challenge. The festival, held in the new and green area known as Parco Amendola, unexpectedly received immense interest from the public. It was highlighted that the new location was highly advantageous in terms of both physical accessibility and seating areas. The party management stated that they successfully managed this venue change, turning a potential crisis into an opportunity.

One of the most striking details of this year's festival is that both the increase in visitor numbers and the revenue collected exactly doubled compared to the previous year. Providing food service for over 5 thousand people during the event showcased the public's intense interest in the festival. Additionally, a total of 30 different political events, panels, and discussions were organized, attended by prominent political figures from across the country. Throughout the month-long uninterrupted festival, over 300 volunteers actively supported the fieldwork and organization. The party not only organized a festival but also utilized this process efficiently to strengthen its organization within the city.

The Demokratik Parti management in Modena emphasized that the event was not merely for entertainment or celebration, but rather a serious tool for delivering a societal message and self-financing (auto-financing). Over a thousand signatures were collected by volunteers and participants for the petition campaign initiated by the party to defend public health. This situation is of great importance as it demonstrates the extent to which the local public supports the party's policies on fundamental issues such as healthcare services. This festival, held at a central location in the city where the public gathers, helped dismantle the invisible walls between politicians and ordinary citizens. Throughout the event, the principle of doing politics among and alongside the people—in the words of party spokespersons—was successfully realized.

In the assessments made, it was noted that this success would also serve as a great source of motivation for the general political elections to be held in 2027. The local party management stated that they would continue their goal of turning the city of Modena into a political laboratory on a national scale and would continue their preparations for the future without slowing down. In this context, the party plans to continue its political struggle guided by five main priorities it will adopt. Defending the public health system and state schools, and creating a quality and dignified working environment are at the forefront of these priorities. In addition to these, ensuring the legal and social rights of individuals and protecting our planet and the local environment are among the strategic targets.

Finally, the party administrators expressed their deep gratitude to the volunteers, stating that they were the true driving force behind the event and the fundamental reason for its success. In their joint speech, Diego Lenzini and Stefano Manicardi individually mentioned and thanked all the volunteers who worked day and night with great dedication and team spirit, as well as everyone who participated in and supported the festival. It was emphasized that the festival proceeding so flawlessly and productively was made possible thanks to the passion and professionalism of those who labored in the field. It was noted that such societal events are considered one of the most beautiful ways to bring the local public together around common goals in Italian political culture. It was expressed that this experience, co-created by the people of Modena and party members, proved how vibrant civic participation and democratic culture are in the region.
