Citizens in various districts of İzmir, who are already struggling to meet their water needs during the hot summer days, will face a new round of water outages starting July 4. Due to ongoing infrastructure work and unexpected malfunctions across the city, water will be inaccessible at certain times of the day. According to the official statement by the İZSU General Directorate, water cuts will be implemented in many neighborhoods both as part of planned maintenance and repair work and due to sudden faults. It is of great importance that citizens check the times they will be without water in advance and take necessary precautions to avoid disruption to their daily lives. Residents in the affected areas need to be prepared to meet their drinking and utility water needs during the outage periods.

Within the scope of planned outages, works initiated in Sarıyer Neighborhood of Karabağlar district come to the fore. This work, aimed at improving drinking water networks and renewing faulty branches, was planned as a long-term process. Under the application which began on Saturday, June 13 and will last for 28 days, water will not be available between 13.00 and 16.00 every day except Sundays. Considering that they will not be able to use water during this three-hour window, citizens can perform storage starting in the evening or adjust their usage habits accordingly. It is stated that such long-term projects are necessary steps to be taken to establish a healthier water distribution network in the future.

In addition to planned works, sudden faults occurring across the city are also among the areas experiencing water outages. A cut affecting the Adalet and Bayraklı neighborhoods in Bayraklı district occurred as a result of damage to the main pipe during rainwater studies on Anadolu Avenue. Due to this adverse situation, water will not be supplied for approximately three hours between 08.24 and 11.24 during the day. It is stated that the water will return to its normal flow as a result of the control and repair works, and teams have been mobilized to prevent the local people from suffering. Similarly, a main pipe fault in the Cumhuriyet and İstiklal neighborhoods of Kiraz district caused a longer period without water.

The fault experienced in Kiraz district caused a long outage stretching from morning hours to the afternoon. Due to a fault in the main pipe, it was announced that water will not be available between 08.10 and 14.00 in Cumhuriyet and İstiklal Neighborhoods. Although this approximately six-hour outage may vary depending on how long the repair work takes, the current plan targets restoring water supply in the afternoon. It is critically important for citizens to be mindful of their water usage starting from early morning and to make necessary preparations in advance to prevent daily routines from being disrupted. Technicians in the region are working intensively to solve the problem as soon as possible.

The longest outage duration is being experienced in Uzundere Neighborhood of Ödemiş district. Water supply in the region came to a halt due to a technical malfunction in the pump motor. The fault started on the evening of July 3 at 22.15, and water will not be supplied for approximately 17 hours until 15.00 on July 4 following the completion of repair works. This long-term cut causes neighborhood residents to experience water shortage over a time span covering two days, while it is reported that İZSU teams are conducting an intensive effort to resolve the issue. Citizens are advised to take necessary measures, especially regarding drinking water and hygiene needs, during this long outage period and to follow announcements from authorities.
