Forest fire panic in Kuyucak: Teams ensure control with coordinated intervention

A fire that started in the old dumping ground site located in the Evlidağ Yolu area within the borders of the Kuyucak district of Aydın caused great concern in the region. Upon the seriousness of the situation, the authorized units mobilized a large number of teams to the scene and worked intensively to prevent the flames from spreading to surrounding residential areas or forested areas. While immediate intervention at the first moment was crucial, fire crews affiliated with the Orman Genel Müdürlüğü, as well as teams from the Aydın Büyükşehir Belediyesi İtfaiye Daire Başkanlığı and Kuyucak Belediyesi, played an active role on the field.

The teams arriving in the region worked in a coordinated manner to prevent the fire from growing and raced against time to bring the flames under control. The intensity of the extinguishing efforts continued with officials monitoring the personnel on site, and Kuyucak Mayor Uğur Doğanca also went to the scene to closely monitor the work of the teams. In statements made, it was stated that all necessary measures were taken to prevent the fire from spreading to a wider area, considering its current position and the effect of the wind.

Following the successful intervention, Mayor Uğur Doğanca made statements to the press members and thanked all the teams who intervened from the very beginning. Doğanca expressed his satisfaction with the devoted work shown by the Forest Fire Team, the Aydın Büyükşehir Belediyesi Fire Team, and the teams affiliated with his own municipality, receiving praise. It was observed that Deputy Mayors Serkan Erdoğan and Halil Sağlam, who conducted inspections at the scene, were in constant communication with the teams and provided coordination.

Drawing attention to the increasing fire risk day by day due to the heat waves and dry seasonal conditions prevailing in the region, Mayor Doğanca also warned citizens regarding the issue. Emphasizing that the possibility of forest fires increases especially in the summer months, Doğanca requested that all citizens be conscious about what they need to pay attention to and act with precaution. The importance of increasing social awareness to prevent the recurrence of such events was emphasized.

As a result of the intense efforts of the teams, the fire was brought under control in a short time and its growth was prevented; however, it was stated that cooling works would continue in the region for a while and the necessary sensitivity would be shown against the risk of possible re-ignition. The fact that the incident was overcome with the harmonious cooperation between local governments and the forest administration once again revealed how critical prevention and intervention speed are in possible disasters.
