Restriction on entering stores with pets in Litvanya: 'We hope common sense and a rational compromise will prevail'

Laura Katiliūtė, a representative of the "Express Market" retail chain, stated in her remarks on the matter that they hope common sense and a rational compromise will prevail. The company believes this decision victimizes both store owners and pet owners. Additionally, it was reported that government representatives have been contacted to resolve the situation. Authorities are expected to reconsider the issue and find a flexible solution.

The relevant retail chain emphasizes that no similar issues have occurred in either the Kaunas city center or the capital, Vilnius. It is noted that in these two major cities, businesses have the freedom to make their own internal decisions regarding pet entry. Company representatives argue that it would be much more practical for local governments to leave this decision directly to the businesses. It is expressed that other municipalities have a more flexible approach to this issue and that no serious problems have occurred. This situation opens the door to criticisms that the Kaunas regional administration's decision is inconsistent.
