Mardin Provincial Health Directorate has taken an important step to increase the overall quality of health services offered in the region. In particular, in order to make mother and baby health services more effective and efficient, comprehensive field inspections have been initiated for private health institutions. These inspections are of great importance for evaluating existing health service delivery processes on-site and making necessary improvements.

The coordination of the studies is carried out by the Public Health Services Presidency of the Provincial Health Directorate, and the process has been handled with a multidisciplinary approach. A special field inspection team consisting of experts has been established to monitor newborn care processes and raise quality standards in health services. This team aims to contribute to the establishment of standards by examining the working principles and practices of health facilities in the finest detail.

The inspection team served actively in the field under the accompaniment of the Deputy Head of Public Health and the Child, Adolescent, Women and Reproductive Health (ÇEKÜS) Unit Manager. In addition to obstetricians, pediatricians, neonatologists, infectious disease specialists, and anesthesiology and reanimation specialists, experienced midwives and nurses took part in this process. In accordance with the prepared program, two private health institutions serving in Mardin were visited and detailed inspections were carried out.

During the field inspections, in particular, neonatal intensive care units, pediatric services, delivery rooms, and operating rooms were examined under a microscope. Many critical points, from infection control practices to hygiene standards, from the suitability of physical spaces to the adequacy of medical devices and equipment, were examined on-site by the expert team. The quality of patient and baby care processes, as well as patient safety and record tracking practices, were evaluated in detail during the meticulous inspections.

The findings and determinations obtained as a result of the visits were shared transparently with the senior management of the relevant health institutions. While opinions were exchanged on the continuation of existing good practices, concrete suggestions were presented for the improvement of identified deficiencies. Mardin Provincial Health Directorate officials officially announced that these inspection activities will continue without interruption in a planned manner for the protection of mother and baby health and the strengthening of patient safety.
