Air and Land Intervention Continues for Stubble Fire in Derik District of Mardin

In Bozbayır Neighborhood, affiliated with the Derik district of Mardin, a stubble fire broke out for an undetermined reason. Fire crews and Forestry Operations Directorate personnel, dispatched quickly to the scene upon notification, are making intense efforts to intervene in the fire. A dual control mechanism was established by a firefighting helicopter providing air support to the ground operations conducted to prevent the spread of the flames.

Teams dispatched to the region to minimize fire risk are working intensely to prevent the flames from spreading over a wide area. The extinguishing activities carried out by the teams on the ground are being conducted in a coordinated manner with helicopter-assisted interventions from the air. In this way, attempts are being made to reduce the risk of the fire spreading to other surrounding agricultural areas or habitats, and control efforts are being continued with determination.

Upon receiving news of the fire, Derik District Governor Yunus Emre Bayraklı arrived at the scene to conduct inspections and observed the situation on the ground. District Governor Bayraklı received a detailed briefing on the extinguishing efforts carried out by the fire and forestry teams, gaining information about how the process works and current needs. Under the coordination of the incident management center, all authorities are focused on the goal of extinguishing the fire in cooperation.

Although the wind and hot weather conditions in the region create challenging elements for the teams fighting the fire from time to time, the situation is kept under control thanks to professional equipment and planned work. Helicopter support plays a critical role in intervening in the fire in hard-to-reach and narrow areas. The teams continue their presence and operations on the ground without interruption to fully extinguish the fire and complete the cooling work.
