350 Million Peso Modernization Begins for Guadalajara Exit in Meksika

Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, the governor of the San Luis Potosí state in Meksika, announced that a major infrastructure project in the Guadalajara exit area of the capital will begin in 15 days. Within the scope of this project, a massive investment of approximately 350 million Mexican pesos will be made by the state government. This investment covers a viaduct and road modernization work that will significantly ease traffic in the western part of the city. Authorities state that the new transportation network will create a major transformation in urban transportation. This initiative aims to both facilitate the lives of daily commuters and meet the long-term transportation needs of the region.

The most striking feature of the structure to be built will be the construction of a vehicle bridge approximately one kilometer long. This overpass will be built over the famous intersection where Salvador Nava Martínez boulevard, the Guadalajara exit highway, and Eugenio Garza Sada boulevard intersect. This planned new route will connect the southern and western ends of the Potosí Beltway with an uninterrupted traffic flow. The road to be built will have two lanes in each direction, thereby significantly reducing congestion during peak traffic hours. The project is expected to balance the traffic load in the city center overall and provide time savings for drivers.

The new transportation project is planned to not only accelerate traffic flow but also bring permanent solutions to the chronic infrastructure problems of the region. In addition to the bridge and road expansion works, a comprehensive repair process will be initiated for the stormwater drainage systems and underground pipelines in the area. In the past, floods caused by heavy rainfall led to the complete closure of this intersection to traffic and paralyzed urban transportation. Thanks to the infrastructure improvements, water discharge capacity will be increased, and the risk of flooding will be minimized. This step constitutes both transportation safety and a precaution against flood disasters for local residents.

The exit and entry points of the new viaduct will be strategically located around Plaza San Luis and La Loma Centro Deportivo, which are important centers of the city. Governor Gallardo emphasized that this massive project will directly and positively affect transportation in educational institutions, business centers, commercial areas, and residential zones in the west of the city. Authorities stated that every effort will be made to complete the construction work as quickly as possible and at a record pace in order to minimize disruptions in the transportation corridor. Furthermore, it was reported that working hours and traffic diversions will be carefully planned to ensure traffic safety and prevent drivers from being inconvenienced. Before the project begins, a large-scale announcement campaign will be conducted to inform the local public and drivers.
