Egypt eliminate Australia on penalties to reach World Cup last 16

In a highly tense and difficult World Cup Round of 16 match played in Texas, the Egypt national team defeated Australia 4-2 on penalties to make history for the first time and booked their place in the next round. In the first half, Egyptian defender Mohamed Hany scored an own goal, bringing the score to 1-1 and keeping Australia in the match.
