34 Detentions in June Operations of Narcotic Teams in Muğla

Muğla İl Emniyet Müdürlüğü Narkotik Suçlarla Mücadele Şube Müdürlüğü teams have conducted an intensive and comprehensive study throughout the month of June to prevent drug trade and use across the province. In this context, operations were carried out to seize large quantities of drugs from the market and to rid the streets of drugs. Within the scope of the studies, legal action was initiated against 324 suspects and necessary judicial processes were started. Intelligence work and technical tracking mechanisms were effectively used to ensure the success of the operations.

The quantity and variety of drugs seized in the operations reveal how wide a range of activities drug dealers engage in. During the searches, 6 thousand 744 grams of skunk, 4 thousand 642 grams of marijuana, 570 grams of cocaine, 175 grams of methamphetamine and 71 grams of bonzai were seized. Additionally, 3 grams of heroin, 4 thousand 434 synthetic pills, 2 captagon pills and 40 cannabis roots, part of the drug trade, were found and taken into custody. These data demonstrate the determination of Muğla police against drug narcotics.

The operations were not limited to seizing materials, but also important steps were taken to dismantle the drug trade organization. Narcotic teams seized 18 precision scales used before the sale of drugs, removing elements of crime. These scales constitute important evidence for documenting the commercial activities of drug dealers, and their seizure has eliminated the means of income for this criminal organization. Detailed analyses of the operations show that more strategies are being deployed to break the drug sales network.

The 324 suspects were referred to the judiciary after their processing at security units. As a result of the trials by the judge, a large part of the suspects was released on condition of judicial control to be tried without detention. However, considering the scope and weight of the operations, 34 suspects were arrested and sent to prison. These detentions emphasize the police's determination to combat drugs and their commitment to the rule of law. It is stated that the detainees were found guilty of drug trafficking or being a supplier.

These operations in Muğla are seen as part of the drug prevention strategies carried out throughout Turkey. The successful results obtained according to June data of the İl Emniyet Müdürlüğü reveal the performance of the teams working day and night to ensure the safety of citizens. Collecting drugs from the streets and delivering dealers to justice aims to reduce the potential for future crime.
