74-Year-Old Pedestrian Hit by a Truck in Ordu Loses Life

The fatal traffic accident that occurred in the morning hours in Ordu's Altınordu district resulted in the loss of one life. In the incident that took place on Zübeyde Hanım Caddesi, 74-year-old Ahmet Karabulut was severely injured after being hit by a truck while trying to cross the road. Upon the immediate notification of the surrounding citizens to the 112 Emergency Call Center, numerous health, police, and fire teams were dispatched to the scene. The rapid intervention of the citizens who witnessed the accident was of great importance in such situations where every passing second is critical. Unfortunately, the elderly man's condition was so severe that he could not be saved despite all medical interventions.

Zübeyde Hanım Caddesi, located in Şahincili Mahallesi where the accident occurred, is known to be one of the areas with heavy city traffic. Allegedly, the truck with the license plate 52 AFA 006, driven by a 24-year-old driver named İ.A., ran over Karabulut after hitting him. The elderly man being trapped under the vehicle required the teams to exert extra effort during the rescue operations. It took time for the fire and medical teams to carefully extract Karabulut from his location. This process revealed both the severity of the accident and the tragic dimensions of the incident.

Ahmet Karabulut, who received initial medical intervention at the scene of the accident, was quickly transported by ambulance to Ordu Devlet Hastanesi as his condition worsened. Doctors mobilized for the elderly man who was taken under emergency treatment at the hospital. Even as a result of all medical interventions and intensive efforts, Karabulut's vital functions could not be restored. The bitter news from the hospital plunged his family and loved ones into deep grief. It was once again revealed how vital rapid medical intervention is in such traffic accidents.

Following the incident, police teams launched a detailed investigation at the accident scene and took extensive security measures in the vicinity. While traffic flow was ensured in a controlled manner, evidence regarding the incident began to be collected. İ.A., the driver of the truck involved in the accident, was detained by police teams, and judicial proceedings were initiated against him. It was stated that the investigation is being carried out comprehensively under the coordination of the traffic safety units and the prosecutor's office. Authorities stated that camera footage is being examined and witness statements are being taken to clarify exactly how the accident occurred.
