6 Years in Prison Sought for Father Who Sexually Abused His 8-Year-Old Daughter

In the trial to be held this week at the Balear Adaları Bölge Mahkemesi, heavy penalties are being demanded for a man accused of sexually abusing his own eight-year-old daughter. According to the information in the indictment, the suspect committed acts of a sexual nature against the young child during the incident, instilled fear in her, and threatened her not to tell her mother about what happened. The court will take into account all the details of this terrible experience the child was subjected to and the abhorrent attitude displayed by her father. The investigation conducted by the authorities has revealed that the relationship between the father and daughter was exploited and that the child was in a completely defenseless situation. This case has emerged as a traumatic incident demonstrating the immense dangers children can face, even from their closest relatives.

The incident occurred on 24 Temmuz 2024, at approximately 16.00 in the afternoon at a residence in Mallorca. According to court records, the suspect father was at home with his young daughter at the time. While the sole legal custody of the child rested with her mother, the father had weekly visitation rights. It is understood that at this critical time when the child was at home, other family members were also present in the house, but an opportune moment was awaited so the incident would go unnoticed. Unfortunately, the father turned this legally granted visitation right into a horrific opportunity to commit a crime against his own daughter.

The actual starting point of the criminal events coincides with a moment when the other family members in the house were asleep and the environment was completely quiet. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the suspect approached the child sitting on the sofa in the living room and sexually abused her by touching her breasts. The young girl, subjected to this despicable act, reacted quickly by pushing her father's arms away and directly responding by saying "don't touch me." In response to this legitimate and determined reaction from his own child, the father slapped her, physically punishing her as well. Following the incident, the suspect attempted to manipulate the child, ordering her in a commanding tone to keep quiet and absolutely not tell her mother what had happened.

While this physical and sexual abuse incident is deeply disturbing even when considered on its own, it unfortunately appears that it was not limited to this. According to the details of the indictment, it was determined that the suspect subjected the child to continuous psychological violence throughout the same Temmuz month. The so-called father figure used humiliating, degrading, and insulting expressions toward his eight-year-old daughter, such as "you are stupid," "you are weak," and "even a leaf is stronger than you." Some of these severe insults were directly heard by the child's mother during phone conversations, confirming the extent of the psychological violence. This continuous and exhausting mistreatment from her father caused an intense sense of distress in the young victim, leading to a severe anxiety crisis.

In the final indictment prepared by the prosecution and submitted to the court, these horrific events were evaluated under three separate criminal charges. The suspect is set to be tried for the crimes of sexual abuse of a child under 16, domestic violence, and injury/insult. In line with these three separate and consecutive charges, the Prosecution, conducting the public case, is demanding a total of six years of imprisonment for the suspect. In addition, compensation payment from the suspect is demanded in order to alleviate the moral suffering of the victimized child. Citing the profound moral damages and traumas suffered by the child, the Prosecution has officially requested that the defendant be ordered to pay 5.000 euro in material and moral compensation to the victim.
