Tokayev's Vision for Astana: 'Smart City' and 'New Social Ethic'

Kazakhstan President Kasım-Comart Tokayev congratulated the Kazakh people on the occasion of Capital City Day and made important statements regarding the vision Astana should have in the future. According to the head of state, Astana is positioned as the heart of independent Kazakhstan and the greatest symbol of the country's secure future. This city, which is the focal point of the creative energy of the nation, is the center where the most vital decisions determining the fate of the country's people are made. Tokayev emphasized that the capital is not only an administrative center but also a concrete representation of national independence and state authority. In this context, he once again confirmed that Astana has critical importance for Kazakhstan's future vision.

President Tokayev pointed out the city's pace of development, stating that Astana has become one of the main driving forces in the country's development in recent years. Today, the capital is progressing in line with an innovative "smart city" concept where modern management systems are implemented. In addition to this technological transformation, concrete steps are being taken to improve the quality of life of the people living in the city. In various parts of the city, new parks, green spaces, recreation spots, and modern playgrounds for children are being created where citizens can breathe. The main purpose of these comprehensive efforts is to transform Astana from being merely an administratively strong city into a living space with the highest standards of livability.

The President also specially highlighted the adoption of the "Halk Anayasası" (Constitution of the People), which entered into force on the eve of Capital City Day. He stated that this historical event symbolizes the modernization of the fundamental institutions of the state and society and opens the door to a new era. He emphasized that the new Constitutional Law defining the status of the capital strengthens Astana's role even further. With this new legal regulation, Astana has achieved a consolidated status as the political, administrative, economic, and cultural center of the country. Tokayev particularly emphasized that this step places a much greater and strategic importance on the capital in the context of the future development of the state.

Continuing to share his vision for Astana's future, Tokayev stated that the capital must also create a new model of quality of life and social relations. He stated that they aim for the city to become a living example of a completely transparent and fair social ethic based on responsible citizenship. In this direction, it is aimed to weave principles such as the supremacy of law and order and "Taza Kazakistan" (Clean Kazakhstan) into the fabric of the city. Tokayev expressed his belief that with this innovative and ethical approach, Astana will become a shining city on a regional and global scale. It was emphasized that this vision will enable the capital to act as a pioneering and leading force on the path to the 'Fair Kazakhstan' goal in a general sense.

President Tokayev, who concluded his celebration message with wishes of prosperity, success, and great welfare for the future continuity of the capital to the citizens of Astana, renewed his belief in the city. On the other hand, it was reported that this year's Capital City Day celebrations are shaped with a highly comprehensive and long-term event calendar. The celebrations are planned to be held within the framework of a massive program that will last for ten days. During this period, more than 200 events, including concerts, culture festivals, international sports competitions, and various theater performances, will be organized in the city. This rich program aims to provide an unforgettable holiday atmosphere for both the local people and the guests visiting the city, and to prove Astana's dynamic spirit to the whole world.
