Nationwide operation against organized crime syndicates in Turkey: 74 detained

In the operation coordinated by the Istanbul and Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, 4 separate armed organized crime syndicates were uncovered. In the operation conducted simultaneously in 12 provinces, centered in Istanbul, by law enforcement forces, a total of 74 suspects were detained.

According to the investigation data, the activities of these syndicates were not limited only to Turkey but also reached an international dimension. It was determined that the leadership cadres of the suspects were located abroad and that arrest warrants with red notices were issued for some suspects.

It was determined that the detained suspects committed various crimes such as intentional homicide, drug trafficking, and opposition to the firearms law. While the multi-faceted investigation continues regarding the suspects whose interrogations at the police station are ongoing, a large amount of evidence regarding the crime syndicates was seized during the operations.
