US Conducts Airstrikes on Military Targets on Iran's Southern Coast

United States forces launched a new wave of airstrikes against military targets on Iran's southern coast. The operation, which marks an escalation of the crisis between Washington and Tehran, lasted for approximately five hours under the command of Central Command (CENTCOM). The strikes hit military targets in the regions of Bushehr, Chah Bahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas.

US forces used precision munitions with the aim of degrading Iran's capacity to attack commercial maritime traffic. The operation was ordered by President Donald Trump amidst rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz following Tehran's resumption of attacks on commercial ships. In addition, the US announced the reinstatement of the naval blockade imposed on Iranian ports.

Following the strikes, numerous explosions were reported in the southern Iranian provinces of Hormozgan and Khuzestan. The Tehran administration has not yet made an official statement regarding the damage or possible casualties caused by the attacks. It was noted that more than 20 American warships and hundreds of military aircraft are already deployed in the region, and the forces are on high alert.
