Young people traveling from Amasya to Samsun lost their lives in a traffic accident

Two young people who set off from Amasya's Gümüşhacıköy district for Samsun to swim in the sea had a tragic traffic accident. In the incident that occurred in the morning hours, 17-year-old Hasan Tütüncü, who was traveling by motorcycle, lost his life. It was reported that 16-year-old Enes Enver T., who survived the accident with severe injuries, is continuing his treatment at the hospital and is in life-threatening condition. It was learned that the two young people set off to enjoy the sea during the summer season, but got involved in a tragedy halfway through their journey. Authorities launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident and warned drivers to be careful against the increasing traffic density during the summer months.

The accident occurred at around 09.15 in the Mahmutlu locality on the Ankara highway in Samsun's Kavak district. The motorcycle with the license plate 05 KE 538, driven by 17-year-old Hasan Tütüncü, crashed into the back of a tow truck going in the same direction while heading towards Samsun. The driver of the tow truck was 51-year-old Turgut Yıldız, and he was driving a tow truck with a semi-trailer attached. With the impact of the collision, both young people on the motorcycle were thrown off and severely injured. Upon the notification of the citizens who witnessed the incident, health and police teams were quickly dispatched to the accident scene. According to initial determinations, it was stated that technical examinations were being conducted regarding the motorcycle's braking distance or the vehicle's speed.

Health teams, who arrived at the region immediately after the accident, provided first aid to the two injured young people at the scene. As their conditions were severe, the young people were taken to Samsun Şehir Hastanesi. Despite all the doctors' efforts, the motorcycle driver Hasan Tütüncü could not be saved and passed away. Tütüncü's body was sent to the Samsun Adli Tıp Kurumu Grup Başkanlığı to determine the exact cause of death and to examine other medical data related to the incident. The other injured young person, Enes Enver T., is being kept in the intensive care unit and his condition remains critical. Authorities stated that the young person's treatment is ongoing and his condition is being closely monitored.

It was revealed that Hasan Tütüncü, who lost his life, and Enes Enver T., who was severely injured, were close friends and had made a holiday plan together. It was determined that the two young people got on the motorcycle to go to Samsun to swim in the sea on the Black Sea coast, leaving the Gümüşhacıköy district of Amasya as the weather warmed up. This tragic accident cut short the young people's dreams of living their lives and devastated their families and relatives. It was reported that the families of the young people experienced great destruction upon receiving the bitter news and flocked to the hospital. In the area where the accident occurred, it was learned that traffic was controlled for a while and teams ensured road safety.

Following the incident, a large-scale judicial investigation was launched regarding the matter. Police teams conducted detailed examinations at the accident scene to determine how the accident occurred and whether there was any negligence. It was stated that statements of eyewitnesses were taken, and the interrogation of the tow truck driver Turgut Yıldız began and his testimony was referred to. Experts are investigating details such as the speed of the motorcycle, the distance between the district they set off from and the accident point, and whether traffic rules were followed. Authorities, drawing attention to the increasing traffic density with the arrival of the summer months and the fatigue and lack of attention of drivers on long journeys, invited everyone to obey the rules.
