The Azerbaijani delegation shared the international outcomes and key documents achieved at the forum during the mid-term review of the New Urban Agenda.
At the meeting, Azerbaijan's reconstruction of Karabakh and East Zangezur was showcased as an example, introducing a modern post-conflict recovery model. While 3 million square meters of area were constructed in the region over the last six years, housing was provided for 16 thousand families, and life returned to settlements home to over 90 thousand people.
One of the most important outcomes of the visit was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat). The delegation met with UN-Habitat executives and representatives from various countries to discuss sustainable urban development and the implementation of joint projects.
