Düzce Spor Akademisi Swimming Team Won 14 Medals in National Competitions

The Düzce Belediyesi Spor Akademisi swimming team achieved a great success by winning a total of 14 medals with their superior performance in the Türkiye Yüzme Federasyonu Ulusal Gelişim Ligi Bölge Müsabakalarında. These medals, won in individual and team events, are considered the fruit of the academy's systematic work in the field of swimming. This consistent rise shown by the young athletes signals that a new era has begun in swimming for Düzce. The competitions in question were the 10-12 age category regional championship held in Giresun between 3 and 5 July. The organization, which had a very large participation, hosted a total of 675 athletes from 52 provinces of Türkiye. In this highly competitive environment, Düzce Belediyesi Spor Akademisi took to the field with 10 athletes to try its luck. The competitions provided an important opportunity for young swimmers to showcase both their individual talents and compete with team spirit. The delegation representing the academy prepared for the competitions under the guidance of coaches Aydın Akın, İlknur Akbal, and Bahar Kıdık. The team squad included young and talented names such as Asel Mutlu, Simay Kubay, Melis Akyol, Mira Seyis, Zeynep Gülen, Öykü Zeki, Feride Ada Alkaya, Ervan İnan, Miray Elif Demirhan, and Ravza Nur Tanrıverdi. Most of these names had previously put on remarkable performances in local tournaments, earning the right to participate in this national organization. The physical and psychological preparation of the coaches for the athletes was one of the determining factors of the success in the competitions. Despite their strong opponents, the athletes drew a self-confident picture and managed to become the pride of Düzce.

The Düzce representative team made its name known to Türkiye with a total of 14 medals, 10 in individual categories and 4 in team sports, throughout the tournament. This medal accumulation stands out as a striking statistic proving both the individual development of the athletes and their coordination as a team. In particular, Asel Mutlu finishing as the regional runner-up in the women's 100 metre backstroke was recorded as one of the team's brightest performances. In addition, the quartet team consisting of Zeynep Gülen, Feride Ada Alkaya, Öykü Zeki, and Miray Elif Demirhan achieved a great pride by finishing third in the region in the 4x100 metre freestyle relay.
