Call for Bribe Reporting to Minister Antoni from Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission

The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) criticized Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni for failing to report an alleged bribe offer made to him by Kuantan Singingi Regency Mayor Suhardiman Amby.

Statements from the Commission emphasized that Minister Antoni was obliged to report to the relevant authorities the attempt by the mayor to offer him money in an envelope.

It is alleged that Kuantan Singingi Regency Mayor Suhardiman Amby, who is at the center of the incident, tried to contact the minister to deliver an envelope containing a sum of money.

KPK officials reminded that public officials are obliged to report bribes or gifts within seven days, stating that failure to fulfill this obligation could constitute a crime.

This situation serves as a reminder regarding state officials in Indonesia to adhere to ethical rules and maintain sensitivity in the fight against corruption, while the legal consequences of the incident remain a matter of curiosity.
