A new arrangement has also been made in the terminal departure fees for vehicles providing intracity passenger transportation. For local transport vehicles in this group with a capacity of 16 to 24 seats, a departure fee of 70 TL has been determined. The extent to which this regulation will affect small businesses operating in urban transportation will become clear over time. Carriers working on intracity routes will have to include these new fees in their cost calculations. Such regulations are generally made by local governments to strengthen transportation infrastructure and improve service quality.

As the distance increases, terminal departure fees also rise significantly. The new fees applied to long-distance intercity passenger transport over 100 kilometers are quite high compared to short distances. Accordingly, while 200 TL is charged from small vehicles with 16-24 seats, a fee of 300 TL is requested from vehicles with 25-34 seats. For buses defined as medium-large with 35-45 seats, 450 TL must be paid. The highest fee will apply to large buses with 46 seats and above, and a terminal departure fee of 550 TL will be collected from these vehicles.

These hikes in terminal departure fees seem set to reshape the cost balances in the transportation sector. Since transportation companies may tend to reflect these additional costs on ticket prices in some way, it is inevitable that the situation will also affect end consumers.
