The fate of Airam, who went missing in La Palma, has remained unknown for five months

There has been no news for approximately five months regarding 20-year-old Airam Concepción Afonso, who disappeared during the Los Indianos festival on the Spanish island of La Palma on 16 February 2026. In the search efforts conducted by authorities, various items were found in the Los Cancajos area and numerous witness testimonies were provided, but no clue has helped determine the young man's location.

The family of Airam, who is noted to have autism spectrum disorder and high intelligence, believes he suffered a crisis due to being overwhelmed by the crowd and hid in a secluded place to isolate himself. According to a statement made by his mother, Mercedes Afonso, on 13 May, a person claiming to be a childhood friend stated they recognized Airam by his physical features and a tattoo.

The family also announced that they received other reports of him being sighted in various locations on the island up until 1 June. However, these sighting and identification claims have not yet been confirmed by the authorities. While the investigation into the disappearance continues, the young man's fate remains uncertain.
