Individual nicknamed "metaphysics expert" sentenced to 12 years in prison in rock cocaine operation

In a comprehensive drug operation conducted in the Yakakent district of Samsun, Beytullah Şentürk, known to the public as a "metaphysics expert," was caught and taken into custody. During detailed searches of Şentürk's person and his vehicle, drugs and various materials of historical artifact nature were seized. Following the judicial process initiated after the incident, the suspect was arrested and sent to prison. As a result of the trial activities lasting for months, the case concluded, and the defendant was sentenced to imprisonment. This incident attracted significant attention in the local media due to the individual's interesting nickname.

On 26 Nisan 2026, the date of the incident, the Samsun Emniyet Müdürlüğü Narkotik Suçlarla Mücadele Şube Müdürlüğü teams conducted intelligence work in the region. In the operation, which was also supported by the personnel of the Yakakent İlçe Emniyet Müdürlüğü, Beytullah Şentürk's vehicle was stopped on suspicion. During the initial inspections carried out by law enforcement, various pieces of evidence were collected from the hidden compartments of the vehicle and the individual's person. The seized evidence included 16,6 grams of rock cocaine and 36 synthetic pills. This amount of drugs raised suspicions that the suspect was acting for the purpose of trade and led to his detention in flagrante delicto.

In addition to the drugs, it was determined that among the items seized during the operation, surprisingly, there were numerous objects of historical artifact value. During the examinations, 1 historical muzzle-loading rifle and 1 historical muzzle-loading pistol, which hold collection value, were seized. Furthermore, 7 historical paper banknotes and 8 metal coins, believed to belong to past eras, were recorded during the searches. How and from where these historical materials were obtained was among the issues examined within the scope of the police's investigation. This profile of the suspect, involving both illegal drug trafficking and potential historical artifact smuggling, moved the dimensions of the incident to a different point.

Beytullah Şentürk, who was taken into custody, was referred to the courthouse after the completion of his procedures at the Samsun Emniyet Müdürlüğü. The suspect, who appeared before the judge at the Alaçam Adliyesi, was presented to the court with a request for arrest due to the evidence found on him. The magistrate criminal court evaluated that there was a risk of the individual fleeing and tampering with evidence, ruling for his arrest. Following this, Şentürk, known as the "metaphysics expert," was handed over to a prison in Samsun and sent to prison. After this development, the indictment prepared by the prosecutor's office was completed, and the case file was transferred to the heavy penal court.

The court panel announced its decision after evaluating the collected evidence, the amount of seized drugs, and the statements of the law enforcement. Beytullah Şentürk, who was definitively convicted of drug trafficking and possession crimes, was sentenced to a total of 12 years in prison. This decision was considered a deterrent in terms of anti-drug efforts in the region and was welcomed by the local population.
