During this period, non-resident tourists visiting the country for business purposes spent 800.7 million RON (152.7 million Euro), while the expenditure of tourists coming for personal purposes was recorded at 687.3 million RON (130.9 million Euro). The total number of foreign tourists visiting Romanya in this three-month period is reported to be around 391,000. Approximately %51.8 of these visitors traveled for business purposes, while the remaining %48.2 came to the country for personal reasons. These data clearly reveal that Romanya's tourism potential and foreign visitor expenditures, which directly contribute to the country's economy, are increasingly diversifying and constitute a significant source of income.

The expenditures of tourists traveling to Romanya for business purposes accounted for %53.8 of all foreign tourist expenditures, holding a highly significant economic weight. The largest expense item for visitors in this group was accommodation costs, including breakfast, at a rate of %50.3; in particular, the accommodation option including breakfast reached a high preference rate of %90.8 in this category. While the expenditures of business tourists in restaurants and bars constituted %16.5 of the total expenditures, shopping expenses also held an important place with a %14.0 share. This group, which engaged in shopping, allocated %56.9 of their budget to the purchase of food and beverages, while spending %25.2 on souvenirs and gifts. This detailed distribution clearly shows how business tourism provides direct and strong financial support to the accommodation and food and beverage sectors.

Tourists visiting Romanya for personal purposes constituted %48.2 of all visits and spent %46.2 of the total tourism revenues in the country. While holiday-purpose visits constituted %65.6 of the travel reasons for this group, the largest portion of personal expenditures was allocated to accommodation expenses at %41.1. Accommodation including breakfast also saw great interest among personally traveling tourists at a rate of %77.4, reflecting the guests' inclination towards practical solutions. The shopping expenditures of these tourists were realized at %15.3, while their expenditures in restaurants and bars corresponded to %14.2 of the total personal-purpose expenditures. Regarding shopping preferences, %44.2 of the income was directed to food and beverages, and %33.5 to clothing and footwear products, exhibiting a different consumption profile.

The various activity and transportation preferences of tourists are also among the important details that reveal the country's service diversity and infrastructure. When examining entertainment and recreation expenditures, it is seen that %46.5 of personal-purpose tourists paid for entrance to amusement parks, fairs, casinos, and gaming halls, while this rate remained at %41.4 for business tourists. Entrance tickets to museums, tourist attractions, botanical and zoological gardens constituted a significant portion of recreational expenditures, proving the economic value of cultural heritage. On the transportation side, car rental expenses stood out in both groups; %52.5 of the transportation expenditures of those traveling for personal purposes and %57.1 of those traveling for business were realized as car rentals. These data reveal the magnitude of the need for a comfortable and flexible internal transportation network among visitors traveling for both business and holiday purposes.

The ways visitors organize their travels and their methods of entering the country also provide a comprehensive idea about Romanya's tourist accessibility. In the first three months of 2026, %40.5 of all non-resident visitors arriving in the country preferred to organize their trips independently, that is, on their own. While %36.1 of the trips were planned through a travel agency, %15.1 resorted to other methods such as trade unions, and %8.3 used a mixed organization that was both independent and agency-supported. The primary mode of transportation used to arrive in the country was airplanes at %79.6, demonstrating the strength of the regional integration of airline networks. While %14.9 of the visitors used their own private vehicles, %4.9 preferred buses and %0.6 chose other modes of transportation such as trains or riverboats. All these statistical data confirm that Romanya is becoming an increasingly accessible and dynamic destination for international visitors with both its cultural and business-oriented attractions.
