Prostitution operation in 5 provinces centered in Tunceli: 6 suspects detained, businesses sealed

As a result of a comprehensive prostitution operation carried out simultaneously in five different provinces centered in Tunceli, detention warrants were issued for 6 suspects taken into custody. The investigation, coordinated by the Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was initiated upon a tip-off regarding the continuation of illegal activities in two massage salons in the city, which were determined to have opened approximately one year ago. Evaluating the tip, the Moral Bureau teams of the Provincial Police Department Public Order Branch immediately started their work by establishing a special team to technically and physically track the businesses in question.

During detailed tracking work lasting about four months, it was understood that the operators and employees used coded expressions to conceal prostitution activities in their phone calls, and they hosted customers in private rooms at the businesses. In the examinations, information was obtained that at least 9 women were victimized during the activities of this structure, and the process of collecting evidence was carried out with great care. The sufficiency of the obtained evidence and the scale of the suspects' activities made it mandatory for the operation to cover not only Tunceli but also other provinces.

Simultaneous raids were conducted in Tunceli as well as Elazığ, Adıyaman, Bingöl, and Malatya provinces against the addresses determined within the scope of the investigation. The 6 suspects, for whom detention warrants were issued as part of the operation, were caught red-handed by the security forces and taken into custody. Subsequently, upon the instructions of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, detailed searches were conducted at the massage salons and the residences of the suspects, and numerous pieces of evidence such as condoms and pregnancy tests were seized.

Following the examinations by the security forces, it was decided to impose administrative fines on the businesses where illegal activities were conducted, and the workplaces were sealed to terminate their activities. After the statement procedures at the police department were completed, the suspects were referred to the judicial authorities. The suspects, whose requests for detention were evaluated by the court they were brought before, faced a decision of detention by the judge and were sent to prison.

This operation served as an indicator of how extensive and traceable the struggle against illegal organizations in the region is. The investigation revealed how even coded communication could be deciphered through technical surveillance, while important steps were also taken towards identifying the victimized individuals. Officials emphasized that precautions and controls against similar criminal activities would continue, stating that all necessary procedures were carried out within the framework of the rule of law.
