Tobacco Growing Countries Called for Stronger Cooperation to Protect the Economic Role of the Sector

Victor Mwambalaswa, President of the Tanzanya Tütün Kurulu (TTB), stated that stronger cooperation must be established among producer countries in order to protect the economic role of the global tobacco sector.

Tobacco producing countries emphasize the decisive impact of the sector on national economies, advocating for more harmonized policies to be followed in line with their common interests.

In many countries where agricultural production relies on tobacco, especially in Tanzanya, the livelihood of millions of farmers is sustained in direct connection with this sector.

In the face of global regulations and increasing restrictions, it is aimed for producer countries to secure the sustainability of the sector by sharing their capital and knowledge.

Agricultural experts and economic officials expect this cooperation to increase the income level of farmers and add stability to national economies.
