vivo Y05e Introduced: 5,150 mAh Battery and Military-Grade Durability

Following recently leaked news and approvals obtained from various certification authorities, vivo's new entry-level smartphone Y05e has been officially launched. The device was made available for purchase through the website of Vodacom, a major telecommunications company in South Africa. This new model stands out with its affordable price, durable build, and battery offering long-term usage. The product targets consumers who particularly seek durability and prefer a budget-friendly device. Additionally, since the phone has received approval from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) in Thailand, it is expected to go on sale in this country in the near future.

Looking at the technical specifications of the device, it is seen that it comes with a large 6.74-inch LCD screen. Offering an HD+ (1600 x 720 pixel) resolution, this screen is designed to provide a sufficient experience for watching videos and social media usage. One of the most striking features of the phone is its large 5,150 mAh capacity battery. The manufacturer claims that thanks to the superior power management of the device, the battery life and health are preserved for up to four years. Thanks to this, it is stated that users can use the device for a long time without worrying about the battery suffering a rapid loss of performance.

Also ambitious in terms of durability, the vivo Y05e has an IP64 certification that provides protection against dust and water splashes in daily life. In addition, thanks to the materials and design used in its internal structure, the phone is manufactured to meet the Military-Grade drop resistance standard. Thanks to these features, the risk of the device being damaged in accidental drops and harsh usage conditions is minimized. In the performance aspect of the device, a Unisoc T606 processor is used to meet basic daily operations. Offered with 4 GB of physical RAM, the phone can increase its memory up to 8 GB thanks to virtual RAM expansion technology. The 64 GB internal storage space offered to users can be expanded with microSD card support.

On the software side, the vivo Y05e comes out of the box with the latest version of the OriginOS 16 interface based on Android 16. Regarding photography, the device houses an 8 MP resolution main camera with LED flash on the back and a 5 MP resolution front camera on the front for selfies and video calls. In terms of connectivity and hardware variety, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB Type-C charging and data port, dual Nano-SIM card support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth features are available as standard on the device. The phone, announced to measure 167.3 x 76.95 mm, weighs only 199 grams.

When evaluating the pricing and global market strategy, it is seen that the starting price determined for the South African market is 2,499 South African Rand (approximately 5,500 Thai Baht).
