Message of Unity and Solidarity at the Martyrs' Monument on the 10th Anniversary of July 15

On the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, the Hafıza 15 Temmuz Museum and Martyrs' Monument in Istanbul were visited by hundreds of citizens who arrived with Turkish flags starting from the early hours of the morning. While prayers were held for the martyrs who resisted the coup attempt, visitors had the opportunity to examine the symbolic artifacts and digital displays belonging to that night in the museum.

Messages of unity and solidarity came to the forefront at the commemoration ceremonies. A citizen, Merve Güzelten, stated that in Islam, the call to prayer (sela) recited for reasons other than death and Friday is a call for unity and solidarity, emphasizing that on the night of July 15, the calls to prayer did not fall silent and the people gathered together. Güzelten also expressed her gratitude to Ömer Halisdemir, who showed resistance against the coup plotters.

Another visitor, Muzaffer Çetinkaya, reminded that they have not forgotten the coup attempt made ten years ago and that they took to the squares upon the president's call. Çetinkaya stated that they would not surrender the flag and the homeland to anyone, adding that as 86 million people, they will continue to stand by their country.
