Paid Military Service Fee Announced for the Second Half of 2026: 472 Thousand 653 Liras

The Ministry of National Defense shared the paid military service fee, which will be valid in the second half of 2026, with the public during its weekly press briefing. In the statement, it was noted that the amount was recalculated in line with the "Financial and Social Rights" directive published by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance. Accordingly, the paid military service fee for the new period was determined as 472 thousand 653 liras and 60 kuruş. It was stated that the said fee was updated by taking legal regulations and inflation data into consideration. It was reported that conscripts can complete their procedures within the dates determined in this context.

Inflation data and civil servant salary increases were determinative in determining the new paid military service amount. In line with the six-month inflation differences announced on 3 July, a 13.52 percent increase was made to civil servant salaries. This increase rate was directly reflected in the paid military service fees. The amount, which was at the level of 416 thousand 361 liras and 30 kuruş in the previous period, increased to 472 thousand 653 liras and 60 kuruş with the new regulation. This situation requires citizens who want to fulfill their military service obligation through the paid method to rearrange their budget planning. Authorities emphasize that the figure was determined within the framework of legal obligations and was formed through the joint work of the relevant ministries.

The new regulation affected not only the standard paid military service fee but also the additional amounts to be paid by conscripts who are draft evaders or in a bakaya (unexcused absence) status. In this context, there was also an increase in the fines and additional fees that these individuals must pay. The additional amount, which was 4 thousand 857 liras and 55 kuruş in the previous period, was increased to 5 thousand 541 liras and 29 kuruş with the current regulation. It is considered that this increase aims to deter individuals who do not fulfill their obligations on time or do not clarify their status. The Ministry of National Defense reminds all conscripts that they must follow the calculations appropriate to their status through official notifications.

Details regarding the paid military service application process were also included in the MoND's statement. Accordingly, applications from conscripts who wish to benefit from the new paid military service fee started to be accepted as of 7 July 2026. It was reported that the application procedures have been maintained through relevant institutions since this determined date and continue uninterruptedly. It is stated that citizens can fulfill the necessary procedures via the e-Government portal or military recruitment offices. It is recommended that all documents and payment receipts be kept ready for the healthy progression of the process. Authorities state that compliance with the application dates will help expedite the procedures.
