Massive drug operation in 69 Turkish provinces: 1,005 suspects detained

Turkey's Ministry of Interior announced a large-scale narcotics operation conducted simultaneously in 69 provinces across the country. The operation was coordinated by the General Directorate of Security's Anti-Narcotics Department and Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices. The target was drug dealers and organized crime networks. A total of 1,005 teams, 3,815 personnel, 23 aircraft, and 49 narcotic detector dogs participated, highlighting the operation's extensive scope.

Significant quantities of drugs were seized during the raids. Authorities confiscated 708 kilograms and 269 grams of narcotics, 2,971,219 narcotic pills, and 47 kilograms of synthetic drug precursors. These amounts correspond to millions of doses on the street, dealing a major blow to drug supply. The seized substances are set to be destroyed.

As a result, 1,005 suspects were apprehended, of whom 423 were arrested. Judicial control measures were imposed on 138 suspects, while proceedings continue for others. It is believed that major drug traffickers are among those arrested. The judicial process is being conducted meticulously, and the investigation is expanding.

The operation covered provinces including Kütahya, Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Adana, and Diyarbakır, as well as many smaller provinces. The full list of 69 provinces was released, with simultaneous raids carried out in nearly all of them. This demonstrates the operation's wide geographical reach and successful coordination.

The Ministry of Interior commended the police, the Anti-Narcotics Department, Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, and all contributors. The statement emphasized that the fight against drugs will continue with determination. Such operations are seen as crucial in reducing drug addiction and crime rates. The public has welcomed the operation's success, and further similar operations are expected.
