Sports Schools and Inclusive Sports Schools Opened in Adana

The opening ceremony of the Sports Schools and Inclusive Sports Schools, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, was held at Menderes Sports Hall in Adana. The event was attended by Governor Mustafa Yavuz, Deputy Governor İbrahim Küçük, Seyhan District Governor Ekrem İnci, Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Mustafa Loğoğlu, Provincial Police Director Ahmet Hakan Arıkan, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Coşkun Sel, representatives of public institutions, students, and parents. The program began with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem. The first speech was given by Provincial Director Mustafa Loğoğlu, who detailed the work carried out in the field of youth and sports in Adana with data and figures. Following him, Governor Mustafa Yavuz took the stage and thanked all his colleagues for their successful efforts. Governor Yavuz stated that they were making a very valuable start and that children could spend their summer vacation engaging in sports, having fun, and enjoying their time.

Governor Yavuz made important appeals to parents to keep children away from screens and protect them from bad habits. He emphasized that children should be introduced to a sports branch or a cultural and artistic activity according to their talents and interests. He noted that children involved in sports, culture, and arts are very unlikely to stray onto wrong paths, almost to the point of being negligible. He also recalled that at the Family and Children's Festival held in Merkez Park the previous day, hundreds of children had a great time with their families. The governor stressed the importance of such activities for children's development.

Governor Mustafa Yavuz stated that the state, ministries, governorship, and provincial directorates are making efforts to provide these opportunities for children to the best of their abilities. He said that the duty of parents is to entrust their children safely to teachers and coaches. He emphasized that children should not be confined within four walls and should not be left in uncontrolled environments. Yavuz underlined that protecting children is the most important duty and that the future entrusted to them must be prepared in the best possible way, both mentally, physically, and intellectually.

Expressing that sports mean brotherhood, peace, solidarity, unity, and moving forward together, Governor Yavuz stated that through these sports schools, children will lay the foundation for lifelong friendships. He emphasized the importance of these friendships for the unity of society and the future of the country. Yavuz thanked everyone involved in preparing the summer sports schools and expressed his happiness to be together on the first day of the week.

Following the speeches, the program continued with demonstrations in wrestling, gymnastics, karate, ju jitsu, basketball, special athletes' performances, and folk dances. The participants watched the athletes' performances with great interest. The demonstrations by special athletes within the scope of inclusive sports schools were highly appreciated. The event was colorful and well-received by the participants. The opening ceremony once again showcased the unifying power of sports.
