Operation against qualified extortion gang in Ankara: 'Reşo Ağa' and 14 suspects caught

An organized crime syndicate that robbed citizens of their cash and real estate by threatening them with guns in Ankara has been dismantled. In operations conducted under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a total of 15 suspects, including the leader of the organization, were detained in a simultaneous dawn operation.

It was determined that the syndicate, led by Özkan Aydemir, who introduced himself to the community as 'Reşo Ağa', committed extortion by exerting armed pressure on their victims. The interrogation processes of the suspects, who were identified following technical and physical surveillance by security forces, are ongoing at the police station.

It was reported that the judicial investigation launched regarding the matter by the authorities is being meticulously and comprehensively pursued. The suspects are expected to be referred to the courthouse after their legal procedures are completed.
