The appointment of a female mayor in Bakırköy has brought joy to many residents, including us. Women's increased participation in governance is an important gain for society. However, the responsibility of this important position is equally great. To make Bakırköy a more livable district, solving daily complaints alone is not enough. It is necessary to address the root causes of problems and reevaluate the municipal organization both internally and externally.

As community leaders in Bakırköy, we believe that the municipality's WhatsApp complaint line should operate effectively and without interruption. Additionally, the municipality's website should be active 24/7, with all directorates' responsibilities, contact information, and responsible persons easily accessible to citizens. The communication approach of staff answering phones and secretaries should be reviewed. Deputy mayors and advisors should greet citizens with a smile, listen carefully to their requests, direct them to relevant units, and follow up on the process. These steps will increase trust between citizens and the municipality.

The Cleaning Affairs Directorate should be strengthened in terms of personnel and equipment. The maintenance teams of the Parks and Gardens Directorate are insufficient; our parks need regular maintenance. The Technical Affairs Directorate carries out successful work, but protecting and sustaining these services is also important. Many parks in our district are neglected. The activities of the Culture Directorate need to reach wider audiences and become more effective.

Theater and cultural events should not only generate expenses; projects that contribute to Bakırköy's promotion should also be developed. The municipality's social media content should be informative, effective, and build trust among citizens. Citizens victimized during the urban transformation process should be given closer attention. Occupational safety and municipal inspections during demolition work should be more effective. The Zoning Directorate should regularly inspect whether construction companies comply with regulations.

Inspections in areas where dumping is prohibited should be increased, and deterrent penalties should be applied. Squares and garbage containers should be washed not just with water but in accordance with hygiene rules. The waste paper and newspaper recycling system should be made more conscious and orderly. The surroundings of clothing and shoe recycling bins should be kept clean and regularly checked. The municipality's event posters and banners should be removed promptly after events. Toilets in mosques and parks should provide free and clean service. The practice of closing Cumhuriyet Square to vehicle traffic at certain hours should be more effectively supervised. The Press Advisory should maintain regular communication with journalists and local media outlets working in Bakırköy. Social activities, book reading days, cultural events, and seminars for retirees should be increased.
