Wild Boar Watch Ends in Tragedy: Relatives Shoot Each Other, 1 Dead

In the Manavgat district of Antalya, three relatives who went on a night watch to protect their fields from wild boars mistakenly shot each other in the dark, believing they were boars. The incident resulted in the death of 47-year-old Abdullah Türk, while the other two were taken into custody.

Last night, Ramazan T. (38), Fatih T. (21), and Abdullah Türk (47) entered a wheat field in the Karahanlar area of Beşkonak neighborhood. They separated to guard the area. Hearing a sound in the darkness, Ramazan and Fatih opened fire, thinking it was a wild boar. However, they realized they had shot their relative, Abdullah Türk.

Abdullah Türk was severely injured and died at the scene. Following the incident, gendarmerie and JASAT teams were dispatched to the area. After investigations, Ramazan T. and Fatih T. were arrested on charges of 'causing death by negligence'.

Such accidents highlight the dangers of measures taken against wild boar attacks, especially in rural areas. Experts emphasize the need for greater caution and utmost care when using firearms in similar situations.
