DPÜ student wins international award in Yunanistan

Kütahya Dumlupınar Üniversitesi (DPÜ) was represented at the academician and student levels at the 66. Uluslararası Genç Olimpik Elçiler Toplantısı held in Yunanistan. This prestigious event hosted participants who came together to discuss the philosophy of olympism, the cultural and social aspects of sports, and international cooperations. The meeting took place in the city of Olympia in Yunanistan, known as the birthplace of the Antik Olimpiyat Oyunları. Representing DPÜ, Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi faculty member and Uluslararası Olimpiyat Tarihçileri Derneği Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi Doç. Dr. Tolga Şinoforoğlu and Lisansüstü Eğitim Enstitüsü student Burak Çolak attended the event. Çolak, who was part of the Türkiye Millî Olimpiyat Komitesi delegation, successfully represented his university on this international platform.

During the seminars and workshops held within the scope of the event, the place of the olympism philosophy in today's sports world was discussed in depth. Participants emphasized that the Olympic Games are not just a sporting organization, but also carry a universal value that strengthens cultural interaction and social peace. Young sports representatives from different countries had the opportunity to share their experiences and exchange views on the understanding of olympism. The poster competition, organized for the second time by the Uluslararası Olimpiyat Tarihçileri Derneği within the scope of the meeting, attracted great interest. DPÜ Lisansüstü Eğitim Enstitüsü student Burak Çolak achieved a significant success in this competition. Çolak was awarded the "Tarihsel Doğruluk Ödülü" with his work titled "The Emergence of Modern Skiing Among the Turks and the Experience of the 1936 Winter Olympics". This award shows that Çolak's academic work is appreciated at an international level.

DPÜ Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi faculty member Doç. Dr. Tolga Şinoforoğlu also served on the jury of the competition. This situation reinforced DPÜ's effectiveness and prestige in international academic platforms. Çolak's success is considered a reflection of the university's qualified work in the field of sports sciences. With this success, DPÜ once again made a name for itself in international academic and sporting platforms.
