6 FETÖ suspects arrested while trying to flee abroad in Edirne

In Edirne's Keşan district, 6 out of 7 suspects were arrested while attempting to flee abroad. The suspects include individuals allegedly linked to the Fethullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ) and a human trafficker. The successful operation by security forces led to the apprehension of the suspects, who were then referred to the courthouse.

Among the arrested FETÖ suspects are an expelled ÖSYM expert, a former chief auditor of the Court of Accounts, a gendarmerie officer, and teachers. These individuals are believed to have connections to the organization and were trying to escape justice by going abroad. İ.D., accused of human trafficking, was also arrested.

The operation took place on the Keşan-İpsala highway. Teams from the Provincial Police Department's Intelligence Branch, Keşan District Police Department's Anti-Terrorism Bureau, and Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau conducted a joint effort. The vehicle driven by İ.D. was stopped, and during the search, 6 FETÖ suspects and the driver were detained.

After completing procedures at the police station, the suspects were sent to Keşan Courthouse. Six individuals were arrested by the judge, while one suspect was released under judicial control. The arrested were sent to prison.

This incident is seen as part of the ongoing fight against FETÖ's foreign connections and escape attempts. Security forces continue their counter-terrorism efforts. The operation also addressed human trafficking.
