Motorcycle hits car in safety lane: 1 dead, 1 injured, driver found drunk

The traffic accident that occurred in the Hatipler Yenimahalle location on the D-400 highway in Aksu district, Antalya, at midnight around 00.00 was also reflected in security cameras. As a result of the examinations at the accident site and the review of the security camera records around, it was determined that the car driver was not found at the scene. As a result of detailed search efforts by the police teams, the car driver Ş.T. was found lying on a concrete ground near the accident site. While the driver was observed to be in shock and in no condition to perceive the accident, alcohol was detected during the check. In the alcohol test performed by the traffic teams on Ş.T., it was determined that he was 0.67 promil drunk, and this situation explained the driver's moving away from the area immediately after the accident. The driver was taken to the hospital for control purposes by the health teams upon stating that he did not feel well.

An important detail was determined that the car driver Ş.T. not only was drunk, but also did not have the sufficient license to drive the vehicle. A total of 36 thousand 629 lira administrative fine was applied to Ş.T. for both driving drunk and having an insufficient license, and his driver's license was confiscated for 6 months. In addition, although the ownership of the vehicle belonged to the owner, an 11 thousand 629 lira fine was issued to the vehicle owner on the grounds that it was driven to a person with an insufficient license. These penalties revealed the seriousness of the violations that endanger traffic safety and the weight of legal sanctions.
