Barriers removed on Erdemli beaches: Accessible beach opens

Erdemli Municipality has made the district's beaches accessible for disabled individuals to enjoy the sea comfortably and safely. Within the scope of the arrangements, an accessible beach application was implemented, along with toilets and shower areas suitable for disabled use. In a statement from the municipality, it was noted that significant arrangements were made on the beaches in line with the goal of an accessible Erdemli for everyone, and the necessary infrastructure was created for disabled individuals to reach the sea independently. The statement said, "With the goal of an accessible Erdemli for everyone, we have arranged our beaches so that our disabled individuals can reach the sea comfortably, safely, and freely. With our accessible beach, accessible WC and shower areas, the joy of the sea is now more reachable for everyone." Municipality officials stated that similar efforts will continue in different areas in line with the accessible city approach.

This project aims to increase the participation of disabled individuals living in Erdemli district in social life. While access to the sea poses a major obstacle for many disabled people, this step by the municipality has created significant awareness.
