10 detentions, 2 suspects released in Eskişehir-centered fraud operation

As part of a fraud investigation carried out centered in Eskişehir and resonating throughout the country, the justice mechanism has taken an important step. Under the coordination of the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, efforts aimed at deciphering the financial networks of the criminal organization and dismantling the structure where unjust gains were obtained were meticulously continued. In accordance with the operation plan prepared within this scope, a large-scale simultaneous operation was launched to apprehend the suspects and deliver them to justice.

The operation in question was executed simultaneously in different regions of Turkey on 30 June and concluded with the successful work of law enforcement units. In raids conducted in Antalya, Isparta, and Aydın provinces in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions, primarily in Eskişehir, concrete evidence was reached regarding the fraud network. 12 suspects, determined to be related to the crime within the scope of the operation, were apprehended by our security forces and taken into custody, and were handed over to the police departments for their interrogations.

Upon the completion of the detention process, the suspects were referred to the courthouse to give their statements as part of the investigation conducted against them and to be evaluated for judicial control conditions based on their attitudes. In the court process held today, the evidence presented by the prosecutorship and the statements of the suspects were evaluated; during this process, a distinction was made based on the suspects' roles in the crime and the severity of the alleged crime committed.

As a result of the trial conducted by the judicial authorities, a detention decision was issued for 10 suspects who were assessed to have an active role in the fraud activities. It was decided to send the suspects to wards where the trial process will continue, while the other 2 suspects, against whom sufficient evidence could not be found or for whom detention conditions did not arise, were released by applying the judicial control measure.

The investigation regarding the incident is being continued in depth by the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It is expected that detailed statements will be taken from the detained suspects by law enforcement units regarding their hierarchical structures in the criminal organization and other possible partners. On the other hand, it has been learned that the operations are being expanded to other cities and efforts are continuing uninterruptedly to identify other persons or organizations thought to be linked to this network.
