Heavy rain warning in India's West Bengal state: Yellow alert in many regions

The impact of monsoon rains continues in India's West Bengal state. According to a statement by the Alipur Meteorological Department, rainy weather is expected to continue in both the northern and southern regions of the state over the next 24 hours. Due to the expectation of heavy rainfall in various parts of the state, authorities have issued a yellow warning code.

In the northern regions of the country, places such as Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar are forecasted to experience heavy rain and lightning. It was reported that the public should be cautious against the risk of landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas along riverbanks. In South Bengal regions, light to moderate showers will be effective.

Heavy rainfall between 7 and 11 centimeters is expected in North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, and Howrah regions. In the capital, Kolkata, overcast skies with intermittent showers are expected throughout the day. The temperature in the city is predicted to range between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius.
