Iran Foreign Ministry: US Attack on Lark Island Will Not Go Unanswered, Islamabad Agreement Violated

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Bekayi stated at the weekly press conference that the US attack on Lark Island was not a new situation for Iran, emphasizing that the Iranian Armed Forces would not leave any attack unanswered. Bekayi said the Washington administration had made a habit of making excessive demands and confused the concept of negotiation with 'dictation'.

Regarding the fate of the agreement signed in Islamabad by US President Donald Trump, Bekayi stated that the US deliberately violated its commitments approximately 21-22 days after signing, and noted that Washington must be held accountable for this serious violation. He conveyed that Iran would decide how the Islamabad process would proceed considering the exigencies of the time and current conditions, and that US sanctions and the naval blockade continued.

On nuclear issues, Bekayi stated that contacts between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) continued within the normal framework, but there was no new negotiation process. Denying allegations of nuclear activity in the Kuh-e Keleng region, the spokesperson reiterated that Iran was not conducting nuclear activities in that area.
