Israeli forces enter the village of Abidin west of Deraa

Israeli occupying forces re-entered the surroundings of the village of Abidin, located in the Yarmouk Basin west of Syria's Deraa province, on Friday morning. An Israeli force consisting of four armored military vehicles and a bulldozer removed stones placed by local residents to block the road leading to the El-Arida area. Israeli forces established a temporary checkpoint at this location and opened fire on civilian houses.

During these events, an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle dropped a bomb near civilians who were trying to block the Maariya-Abidin road with stones. No injuries or material damage were reported in the attack. According to information reported by the Syrian state news agency SANA, Israeli forces moved from the El-Cezire police station, which they have kept under occupation since the end of 2024 and is their only base in the Deraa province.

It was reported that Israeli forces also entered the village last Tuesday, damaging civilian properties, after which the local population reclosed the road. Syria states that these Israeli initiatives are a violation of the 1974 ceasefire agreement. The Damascus administration demands the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Syrian territory and calls on the international community to take the necessary responsibilities.
